Class Stars!

CLASS STARS

Yesterday, for time spent on Sumdog: Spelling – NOAH with 45 minutes; Reading – JOHN with 30 minutes; Maths – BEN with 1 hour and 5 minutes.

In P.E. NOAH managed to keep going for 30 minutes, and in Health and Wellbeing BRANDON, JOHN and MAGDALENA had the healthiest breakfast starchy food.

Today, with the highest number of correct answers in Sumdog: Spelling – NOAH, 195; Reading – STEPHANIE, 126; Maths – NOAH, 278. Remember, the longer you play Sumdog, the more likely you are to get correct answers!

Well done to NOAH who watched the French lesson –Très bien, Noah!– and to MAGDALENA and BEN who are still working out daily with Joe Wicks.

Thursday 26th of March

Good morning everyone! It looks like we’ll have a bright, sunny day. Make sure you get some time outside, in your garden or going for a cycle or a walk with a member of your family.

Did you know that sunlight helps our body produce vitamin D, and in turn vitamin D helps boost your mood, making you feel happier? This is why so many people LOVE sunshine… me included!

Wednesday 25th of March

Good morning P4/5! Some of you have been commenting on how you’re getting on with your morning workout. Today we actually want to pick a winner! If you haven’t done so yet, please go to Google classroom and accept your invite to join. That way you can time your workout and let us know your times on Classwork/Health and Wellbeing. For a relaxing afternoon we have chosen Art: how to draw a puppy! Enjoy :o)

Unexplained pupil absence

Dear parents, Just a reminder that children must check in with teachers every day. This is being facilitated in Google classroom through an online register created for this purpose. Alternatively, children can just leave a comment letting us know that they are there or, ideally, they will engage with the daily online activities. In order to comply with the Highland Council three day rule for dealing with unexplained pupil absence, if your child hasn’t made any contact this week by tomorrow, Wednesday 25th of March, at 12noon, a phone call will be made home by 3pm to ensure pupil safety. Thank you.

Tuesday 24th of March

Well done to everyone who engaged with all or some of the tasks we proposed for you. Lovely to hear you enjoyed your P.E. or how much you’ve done in Sumdog :o) Did any of you manage the Assembly at 11am? Today we have a relaxing activity lined up for after lunch… and keep an eye out for our joke of the day! Keep safe, keep sunny, keep smiling!

Assignment for today

Good morning P4/5! I hope you all had a lovely, sunny weekend. Look at the instructions, and make sure you complete all your work to the best of your ability. Look forward to seeing it all!

Could parents please encourage children to join Google classroom as this is the preferred method for daily register, and accessing and completing work. However, please don’t worry if your child is not feeling 100% and can’t complete their assignments. Just drop an email to inform Mrs Callander Suzanne.Callander@highland.gov.uk

The week before Christmas

This week I enjoyed doing Santa list.  You basically do your list to Santa while learning how to do a formal letter. At our Christmas party Santa came to say hi. We all got one present from him. This Friday in end of term assembly we are holding a talent show. The votes were tallied and our finalists are the Fortnite crew such as Alan, J.J., Noah, Rafal, Rio and Alfie. And Tony is doing sound. Natasha is doing gymnastics.

Our Achievements

Children in P4/5 have all been encouraged to come up with their own lesson ideas. So far quite a few pupils have accepted the challenge and planned and delivered very successful lessons or activities, where we all learned while having fun. Magdalena delivered a great lesson on how to make pompoms to decorate our classroom, Brandon came up with a clever idea for diaries that the children can use to write stories or write about their day, Courtney delivered a loom band workshop, John guided us all through the perfect den building experience, J.J. helped us build just the right bug hotel and Alex and Zofia got all the class super excited with these wonderful puppets!
